Pirmizrāde 23. maijā, Garciema pludmalē. Atkārtota Valmieras vasaras teātra festivālā un PAiR, Pāvilostā.

Iekšējā telpa Eiropas kultūrās parasti tiek uzskatīta par noslēgtu un sargājamu. Norobežošanās var pasargāt, taču arī izolēt no ārpasaules.
“Saulessargs nesargā sauli" sākas kā stāsts par meiteni, kas, bēgot no mājām, jūras krastā atrod izskalotu megalodona žokli un nolemj tajā iemājot. Izrāde ved cauri draudīgai un sargājošai dabai kā izpētes laukam un mēģinājumiem justies droši, esot atvērtiem / aizvērtiem. Tā rotaļīgā un poētiskā veidā uzdod jautājumu – kas, ko un no kā sargā?

Later performed again at the Valmiera Summer Theatre Festival and the PAiR residency in Pāvilosta.

In European cultures, interior space is usually considered closed and protected. Separation can protect, but it can also isolate one from the outside world. SUNSHADE DOES NOT PROTECT THE SUN begins as a story about a girl who, running away from home, finds a washed-up megalodon jaw on the seashore and decides to live in it. The performance takes us through the menacing and protective nature as a field of exploration, and attempts to feel safe while being open/closed. Playfully and poetically, the performance asks the question: Who protects what and from whom?

The performance is Marta Madara Grantiņa's bachelor's thesis in scenography, The Art Academy of Latvia. Bachelor's thesis supervisor: Monika Korpa (Pormale).
